Emergency Services Zone
Celebrate the heroes of our emergency services by immersing yourself in the action-packed Emergency Services Zone! Get up close and personal with the dedicated members of their teams and try out some of their life-saving kit!
Coming to the 2024 Suffolk Show:
- East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust – We are not just an Emergency Service, we will be bringing frontline vehicles to the show for the public to look around and chat with the crews. Our volunteer Community First Responders will be joining us along with our Community Engagement Group, we will also have our Public Engagement team there, gathering feedback and views, handing out information, along with this will be a couple games for the younger ones, Quiz for the older ones. Our Charity team will be joining us and show casing what they do. Recruitment and our Emergency Operation Centre Team who take the emergency calls will be joining on the stand. Our Commercial Training Team will also be around ready for any questions you may have. You can also have a free blood pressure check by one of our lovely team.
- Norfolk and Suffolk 4x4 Response – radio controlled car course and response vehicles on display
- RNLI & HM Coastguard – meet the coastguard team, look around a lifeboat and learn how to stay safe at sea.
- Felixstowe National Coastwatch Institution (NCI) and Coast Patrol and Rescue - Find out how they are the ‘Eyes and Ears Along the Coast’ and how they work alongside Coastguard and RNLI to keep you safe on the beach and in the sea.
- SARS Suffolk's Emergency Medical Charity – Meet the amazing volunteer clinicians who give up their time to respond to medical emergencies across Suffolk in their rapid response vehicles.
- St John Ambulance - find out what it takes to be a volunteer first aider, watch CPR demonstrations also joined by the lions giving out message in a bottle and pick up the children's quiz sheet fir the emergency services zone to be with a chance to win a prize.
- Suffolk Constabulary – Meet officers, staff and Dogs! Explore our cars, equipment and climb into the Prisoner van. Have your fingerprint keyring done for free as well as other useful freebies and information.
- Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service – Meet members of Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service and find out about the diverse work we do. Also have a look at our vehicles and equipment and watch our display in the Arena
- Suffolk Lowland Search and Rescue – from flood rescue to finding missing people, learn more about the varied work of this voluntary team.
- East Anglian Air Ambulance – Experience the world of East Anglian Air Ambulance’s helicopter emergency medical service and discover what it's like being a crew member tasked to a life-threatening emergency. Learn how YOU can make a difference to saving lives by learning CPR.
- SERV Suffolk & Cambridgeshire Bloodrunners - A group of dedicated volunteers who deliver urgent blood products, donated human milk and medicines free for our Local NHS Hospitals and Air Ambulance services 24 hours a day, every day. Activities on the stand include sitting on motorbikes, mini motorbikes and cars. We will also have sticker cards and drawings of bloodbikes for people to take away and colour.
- The Joint Civil Aid Corps - is the National Civil Defence (Emergency Support) organisation, providing support to communities and professional services during emergencies.
- Civil Nuclear Constabulary – Meet officers and staff, take a closer look at some of the kit and equipment we carry, including some of the training weapons systems and have a closer look around one of our vehicles.
- Norfolk & Suffolk 4 x 4 Response - See the vehicles and equipment we use to assist the emergency services in times of severe weather. We also assist the public and other charities at events throughout the year.

Full Team Scenario Scenario : A casualty is found by a bystander on the beach after a jet ski accident. A CFR was logged on from home just 2 minutes from the scene and was dispatched to start CPR. The tide is coming in and sand dunes are between the road and the beach. Access is difficult and the Air Ambulance has been dispatched to the scene. Police will be needed to close the road. There are concerns that the fuel from the Jet Ski is leaking into the water. |

Car Rescue Scenario Scenario : A vehicle has been in a collision with a horse (chance to promote safety when driving past horses), the driver is trapped and the rider is seriously injured, requiring blood which was thankfully delivered to the air ambulance in the morning by the blood runners. |
