Food and Farming Student Day

The Food and Farming Student Day is an opportunity for Key Stage 3 & 4 pupils to find out about the farming industry, meet farmers, scientists, engineers and watch live demonstrations

The day is run in partnership with and hosted at Hollow Trees Farm, a mixed working Suffolk farm. The event is a rare opportunity for Key Stage 3 and 4 students to learn from over 50 industry representatives who will be on hand to advise students on the vast opportunities available within the thriving agriculture and food production industry. Everything from field to fork, engineering to agronomy, research to retailing, grain trading to vegetable growing will be represented.

The day is designed to offer integrated and interactive learning opportunities. Throughout the farm journey, links can be made to every area of the curriculum especially the sciences, geography, business studies and food technology. A bespoke workbook is provided for every student to record their findings, as well as a locally sourced packed lunch. There is no charge for the event, and everyone receives a free lunch.

The event is held in annually in June and will be on Wednesday 18 June 2025.  Information is sent to schools across Suffolk via careers leads. If you would like any further information or to register your interest in the next event, please contact Hannah Woods
