Suffolk the Platinum Years is a one off unique exhibit spread over two acres showcasing all aspects of Suffolk life through Her Majesty’s Platinum Decades. Organisations below are working together to share unique artefacts and create interactive displays to create an opportunity for the visitors experience how life has changed over the past 70 years.
Those vising Suffolk the Platinum Years display will be able to browse the following sections:

Bentwaters Cold War Museum - The purpose of Bentwaters Cold War Museum is to collect, preserve, display and provide for scholarship, material relating to the history of RAF Bentwaters and RAF Woodbridge and the Cold War in general, for the public benefit in perpetuity. They will be exhibiting ex-USAF security police vehicles along with USAF Security Police re-enactors, in addition to a museum display stand. They have a vast collection of RAF objects, which have information labels describing their relevance to Bentwaters and Woodbridge.
EDF Sizewell B power station will be jointly exhibiting with Leiston Long Shop Museum, clebrating the long history that Sizewell and Leiston Have with engineering, electricity and steam.
|WI - The Suffolk East Federation of WI’s was set up in 1919 following the start of the WI Organisation in England in 1915 and are a part of the largest women's organisation in the UK. Their exhibition will look at how changes in legislation; social attitudes; science; health and technology have impacted the lives of women in home and family life. The exhibition will feature a timeline display of events that had an effect on women's lives between 1952 and 2022, in addition to three separate displays featuring the changes in laundry & cleaning; the kitchen and gadgets, as well as home entertainment.|
