SAA Annual AGM – looking back looking forward

Life at Trinity Park is about more than the Suffolk Show, the Suffolk Agricultural Association (SAA) is a charity with a year-round programme of events including educational activities, competitions, conferences as well as running a first-class events venue.  The trading subsidiary of the SAA, Trinity Park Events Ltd (TPEL), is committed to supporting the local community providing an accessible, versatile venue as well as hosting the Association’s own annual events, including the Suffolk Show.

The Suffolk Agricultural Association’s AGM took place on Monday 19 February at 11.30 which reminded us of the activities of the Association and TPEL last year and publicised some of the exciting plans for the year ahead.  As well as an important review of the past year, the AGM was also the first day of Tractors into Schools week and kicked off the 100 day countdown to the 2018 Suffolk Show.

Over 55 famers are taking their tractors into primary schools across the county for a week of learning outside the classroom. This initiative is organised by the SAA, with the support of its farming members and aims to encourage children to understand where their food comes from and the importance of the farming industry.

The 100 day countdown has begun for the Suffolk Show 2018, with just 14 weeks to go until the gates open for the county’s biggest day out.  The Suffolk Show at Trinity Park, Ipswich on Wednesday 30th and Thursday 31st May, is set to be bigger and better than ever.  In 2017 the Show was chosen from 30 entries as a finalist for ‘Best Family Day Out’ in the EADT/EDP Norfolk and Suffolk Tourism Awards.
