School Farm and Country Fair - Thursday 2021

Tractors into Schools

We would like every tractor brought into a school to be accompanied by a farmer who will be able to tell the children many interesting facts about the tractor and explain to them what role the tractor plays in bringing food to our tables. Please indicate below if you can bring a tractor to a school and the dates you would prefer to do this. The visit will take place either in the morning or early afternoon.

If you are able to supply the tractor but do not wish to do the talk, we will arrange for a farmer to do a presentation alongside your tractor. Alternatively, if you can do the talk but you cannot provide a tractor we would like to hear from you too.

Food and Farming Student Day – Wednesday 2021

The event has been running for eleven years to showcase the Food and Farming industry to over 350 13 – 16 year old students from across Suffolk. It is held annually at Hollow Trees Farm, Semer (nr Hadleigh), which is a working farm with a farm shop, butchery etc.

Students are in groups of approximately 15-20 and they are timetabled to visit interactive workshops throughout the day to learn more about food and farming, as well as the career opportunities available to them. Each group has a steward to escort them to their workshops.
