Land Rovers gear up to support four local charities at this year’s Suffolk Show - May 2017

The Suffolk Land Rover Owners Club are gearing up for their return to the Suffolk Show on 31 May and 1 June, where they will offer visitors a thrilling off-road experience all in aid of four local charities. Each year around 3,000 visitors enjoy a bumpy ride around the specially constructed course at Trinity Park, raising thousands of pounds for local causes.

In 2016, the Suffolk Land Rover Owners Club raised over £9,000 for charity across the two-day show. This year the club hopes to smash their fundraising target with all proceeds going towards the Suffolk branches of Make-a-Wish Foundation, Marie Curie Cancer Care and Riding for the Disabled, as well as The Long Shop Museum in Leiston.

Each year around 60 club members provide their vehicles, fuel and time free of charge. A wider variety of vehicles motor around the course, including Defenders, Discoveries, Range Rovers and 101s, many of which are ex-armed forces or especially modified. Visitors of all ages and abilities are welcome to enjoy a ride.

Andy Jeff, Chairman of Suffolk Land Rover Owners Club said: “We very much enjoy taking part in the Suffolk Show each year – it’s a fantastic opportunity to boost our fundraising efforts and for members to showcase their driving skills and passion for Land Rovers with show goers.”

Bee Kemball, Suffolk Show director, said: “The Suffolk Land Rovers Club are a firm favourite at the Suffolk Show so we are very pleased to welcome them back for another year. As well as offering visitors an exciting 4x4 experience, it’s fantastic that the club are able to raise such amazing amounts for local charities.”
