Final countdown is on for the spectacular Suffolk Show

Xx May 2017

Excitement is building with just days to go until gates open at the county’s greatest event, the Suffolk Show. Held at Trinity Park on Wednesday 31st May and Thursday 1st June, organisers are set for the most hotly-anticipated event in the county’s calendar with thousands of fun activities, experiences and attractions for the whole family to enjoy.

Not to be missed this year is the daring performances from Atkinson Action Horses, the equine stars of the BBC’s Poldark who will be wowing the crowds with breath-taking, high-energy stunts in the Grand Ring. The highly-trained horses and professional stunt riders will be performing twice on both the Wednesday and Thursday.

This year’s show also boasts a bigger and better Flower and Garden Show, with colourful and inspirational designs from Roger Gladwell, the impressive School Model Gardens and the new courtyard layout featuring the Calvors Beer Garden designed and sponsored by Ed Hopkins Landscape and Garden Design.

There will also be an impressive collection of vintage tractors, showcasing farming through the years, traditional fairground rides, and plenty of free have-a-go activities for all ages in the Suffolk Skills Zone, Sports Village and Military Zone.

The show also offers an unrivalled shopping experience that can’t be found on the high street, with over a hundred artisan food and drink producers showcasing the best flavours of Suffolk, as well as a chance to pick up the latest country fashion on Fifth Avenue.

Show Director, Bee Kemball, said: “Over the last 12 months we have been meticulously planning and preparing for the Suffolk Show, so we are very excited that it’s now just days away. As it’s my first year as Show Director, I am especially looking forward to welcoming visitors from across the county and further afield as they join us for Suffolk’s biggest day out.”

Many animal attractions are also set to draw in the crowds this year, including international show jumping and traditional livestock competitions including Red Poll Cattle, Suffolk Sheep and Suffolk Punch Horses.

Tickets for this year’s Suffolk Show are available on the gate or you can save £5 per ticket by purchasing online in advance. Advanced tickets cost £22 while children aged under 15 will once again receive free entry. For more information and to book tickets visit www.suffolkshow.co.uk or call the ticket hotline on 01473 707117.

The Suffolk Show is run and managed by the Suffolk Agricultural Association. As a charity, the SAA’s core purpose is to promote the importance of food, farming and the countryside to the economy and character of Suffolk through the Suffolk Show itself and a series of education programmes aimed at young people in schools and colleges
