Flight in David Woods Tiger Moth plus a night for two with breakfast at Howard's House Country Hotel
David has been flying for nearly 40 years and now works as a Chief Flying Instructor. He holds a commercial pilot's licence, a flight instructor rating and a flight examiner authorisation. One of his great loves is flying the vintage Tiger Moth, a pre-war aeroplane designed as a basic trainer for the RAF. The Tiger Moth is a beautiful and iconic aeroplane in which countless thousands of young men learned to fly prior to and during the Second World War. David owns two Tiger Moths, both 'war-birds' that served in the RAF during that period; one was built in 1933 and the other in 1942. The older of the two is one of the very first Tiger Moths built by the de Havilland factory at Hatfield. The younger was built by Morris Motors in Cowley during the war. Both aircraft are often seen looping the loop in his home county in Wiltshire.
Plus, a night nearby in the award-winning Howard's House Country Hotel with breakfast for two. Howard’s House is an independently owned and run country house hotel nestled in the heart of an idyllic Wiltshire village. Far removed from the hustle and bustle of the main roads, Teffont Evias rests in splendid seclusion – a world apart from the everyday.
