SAA President raises money for the Ipswich Hospital Charity
Heart patients to benefit from generous donation
Cardiology staff at Ipswich Hospital will receive specialist training on the very latest techniques to further improve care thanks to a generous donation from a grateful former patient.
John Wall, president of the Suffolk Agricultural Association, raised £1,200 for the heart unit by asking for donations during a lunch he hosted at the Suffolk Show. It comes after both he and members of his family received care at the hospital.
Mr Wall, together with the association’s chief executive Phillip Ainsworth and marketing assistant Abi Southworth, presented the cheque to hospital colleagues after touring the heart centre on Wednesday (9 November).
Mr Wall said: “The Ipswich Hospital Charity have done an exceptional job getting our own County Heart Clinic up and running, I know through personal experience and members of my family, the importance of having these facilities and expertise available. It is vital to continue creating awareness of heart problems, especially in young people.”
Pippa Wilson, sister on the unit, said: “We are incredibly grateful for this fantastic donation, which we plan to use on additional specialist training which will make sure every single member of our team is up-to-date with the very latest developments in cardiac care.”
